Where We Work

Our Home in Missoula, Montana

Montana Folk School is based in the stunning landscape of Missoula, Montana. We honor and recognize the Missoula and Bitterroot Valleys as the ancestral homelands of the Séliš (Salish) and Qlispe (Pend d’Oreille/Kalispel) people, who have cared for this land since time immemorial. Our practices are grounded in cultural responsiveness, anti-racism, and deep respect for the past and present Indigenous peoples.

We are proud partners with the Montana Natural History Center (MNHC), and many of our outdoor classes take place at the Fort Missoula Native Plant Garden. Other classes are held on nearby public or private lands, while in winter, our indoor classes move to the Montana Natural History Center building.
